Prayer Group Report

We read from Revelation about the various churches whose conduct was not that desired by God and thought about today's church worldwide which is so divided. We prayed for unity and guidance.

We prayed for the persecuted church to be upheld by the Holy Spirit as we see more and more Christian communities being targeted and enduring much pain and suffering.

Thinking of our own church, we gave thanks for the new initiatives helping to make inroads into the community and prayed for events being arranged in the coming weeks, for all who come onto the premises and for all the groups and activities which happen throughout the week.

Thanks too for the success of the 'Churches Together' Fun Day despite poor weather and for the contacts made there.

We prayed for Hillsborough Tabernacle Church whose 'Year of Hope' began this weekend. The church was bombed in WW2 but was rebuilt with the hope and faith to continue its witness for Jesus. Various activities and events will be organised over the coming year.

Our prayers continued for the people of Nepal and for all the aid workers who are helping in the area.

We gave thanks that, following a 42 day period with no new cases, Liberia has been declared free of the Ebola virus. Nearly 5000 people died from the disease in Liberia.

We prayed for our new government , for their thinking to be guided by God's Holy Spirit to achieve a just and fair society.
