Buttons. A member of Bluebell Wood Support Group is collecting buttons which she then sorts into sets, attaches to cards, sells, all money going to Bluebell Wood. She attends coffee mornings, fairs, etc. to sell the buttons, when invited to do so. To date, this has been very popular. Prayer Group Report

We looked at the re-assurance we find in Psalm 119 - 'Blessed are they who walk in the way of the Lord' - and gave thanks that God has given us His law of love. We also read the passage used at Katie's testimony service - John 15 v.1-12 - about the vine and its branches. We are to love each other and remain in the love of God.

We prayed for Katie and Karen, as they prepare for their ordination later this month. May they be uplifted and guided by God's Holy Spirit as they follow their calling. We gave thanks for the people who have helped Katie on her journey and confirmed her call to serve God. May she always remain in His love despite the inevitable set-backs and disappointments she will face. May she know happiness and joy in the future.

Our prayers continued for the people of Nepal where thousands are still suffering because of the lack of shelter, food and water, in addition to grieving for family and friends killed in the recent earthquake. In Syria and other areas of the Middle East fighting continues and there are thousands of refugees. More and more people are trying to escape lives of poverty and distress by crossing the Mediterranean in unsuitable boats to reach Europe in the desperate hope of finding a better life. There are huge problems in human trafficking in various parts of the world. We prayed for the agencies and volunteers trying to relieve suffering.

A G7 meeting of some world leaders is taking place in Germany this week. May their discussions and decisions be based on justice and the way of peace.

We prayed for those mentioned in our prayer book and for others known to us who are ill or facing difficulties. May the fruits of the Spirit grow in us and may we have sufficient love, patience and joy to show Jesus to others.
