Buttons. A member of Bluebell Wood Support Group is collecting buttons which she then sorts into sets, attaches to cards, sells, all money going to Bluebell Wood. She attends coffee mornings, fairs, etc. to sell the buttons, when invited to do so. To date, this has been very popular. If you have any buttons that you no longer require, I will be pleased to forward them. Hope you can help! Thanks. Enid.

Prayer Group Report

We read from Philippians ch.2 - God wants us to be like 'shining stars'. How difficult we find this... But in the book of James ch.1 we are asked to persevere, even in the face of difficulty and pray for wisdom.

We prayed that God may be with us in our failures and lift us up into encouragement to continue doing all we can to show God's love to others.

We prayed for those facing difficult times in relationships, through bereavement and illness and gave thanks for all those who have recently had operations and are now making progress towards recovery.

We remembered in prayer the families bringing their children to be baptised that they may find a warm welcome here and come to know Jesus for themselves.

Our prayers continued for those parts of the world where there is war and turmoil and people are suffering great cruelty and hardship through no fault of their own (Syria, Iraq, Sudan etc.) and also for refugees fleeing their homelands in the hope of finding a better life. We prayed for governments and those at the forefront of trying to deal with all these problems that solutions may be found.

May the will of love overcome the will of evil and may we be inspired to seize every opportunity to come closer to God and respond to every challenge.
