Prayer Group Report

The Prayer Group meets every Saturday & Sunday 9:00-9:30am.

Our reading was from Lamentations 3 v.40 -"Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord." It is a fact that whilst reading the book of Kings 1 & 2 and Chronicles that when the kings "did what was right in the eyes of the Lord" the nation was at peace and prospered. The kings who "did evil in the sight of the Lord" brought disaster upon themselves and their nation.

We prayed for the 30 British and other people who were so cruelly gunned down on a beach in Tunisia.

Then we read Psalm 33. We gave thanks for Jesus's presence even in times of suffering and distress. We prayed that the church may bring hope to those suffering as desperate refugees.

We gave thanks for the sermon that Barack Obama preached after the Charleston massacre.

We prayed for the governments of the world to have wisdom in dealing with the threat of ISIS.

We remembered the atrocities of the war in this 70 year anniversary.

We prayed for the new ministers inducted last week at Conference, especially our minister Katie. Bless them and sustain them.

We prayed for those still suffering from the effects of the London Bombings on 7th July. We thanked God for all who walked home to show their remembrance.

We prayed for ministers, local preachers and all who work to make our worship possible.

We prayed for those in sheltered accommodation.

We prayed for the power of the Holy Spirit working though all our lives.
