Prayer Group Report

We read from the book of Acts, chapter 17: "We are God's children..."

We prayed for all those known to us who are in any kind of distress - the sick, the bereaved, those with relationship problems etc.

We thought of the homeless and vulnerable living on our city streets as winter bites and remembered especially the homeless man recently murdered in Manchester. May resources be available to alleviate the fear and discomfort of the many people who find themselves without a home.

Our prayers continued for the work of Biblelands and Tearfund in Malawi. We gave thanks for the translators who worked for 20 years to provide the Bible in local Malawi dialects. May its distribution to schools and government bring a change of heart to many people.

We prayed for the work of Embrace across the Middle East, especially the work done with children and women.

We prayed against groups such as Daesh (Isis), the Taliban etc. who do not uphold education and who commit unspeakable acts of atrocity in various parts of the world. May the UN committees be made up of wise men, able to offer solutions to the ongoing threats of terrorism and war.

We prayed for those still risking their lives to escape these dreadful situations and for a way to accommodate all the refugees hoping to settle in Europe.

Lord, let the door of our hearts be always open to you. May we hear your voice and seek your strength.
