Church Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 28th June at 7:30pm, in the church. We will also be considering some renovation work.

It's Good To Be Back in service after my enforced lay off. Many thanks to all who have enquired in any way about my health and offered prayers for me. Many thanks too to Lucy, Di and Marjorie for keeping the music going during this far too long period of absence, and not forgetting the help from the brass section! Thank you all. Trevor.

Becca & Dave’s Wedding. Everyone is invited on Saturday 30th July, at 1:45pm, at Wisewood Church. If you live locally and can avoid using your car, or share lifts with each other, please do, in order to leave room for guests travelling from across the country. Thank you.

Prayer Group Report

We again read from Acts chapter 2: 'I will pour out my Spirit on all people... and everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' The power of prayer gave Peter the authority to face a hostile crowd.

We also read in chapter 32 of Isaiah: 'The fruit of righteousness will be peace.'

We prayed for the volunteers helping refugees and those setting up Christian churches in the camps.

It is reported that many Muslims now settled in Europe are turning to Christianity as a better way to live in love and peace. The pastor of a church in Berlin has performed many baptisms and the congregation has increased from 150 to 700 in the past 2 years. We gave thanks.

We remembered Sandilands church in Kendal - so badly damaged in the winter floods - and gave thanks for the way they linked up with the community at a time of despair. In the midst of disaster God raised up people to bring help and comfort and to spread the Good News of Jesus.

Our prayers continued for our own church, for our minister Katie, stewards etc... and we gave thanks for the fellowship we find here. May the Holy Spirit guide ministers and lay preachers as they study and plan services of worship week by week. We prayed for the Ordinands giving testimonies at the circuit service at 'The Crossing' in Worksop.

We prayed for a faith which will lead us to a better understanding of God and an eagerness to share His love and His word.

We prayed for those mentioned in our Prayer Book, for those losing their jobs where employers face difficulties leading to closure, for the bereaved etc...

Generous God, may your Spirit fill our lives as we serve you. Circle us with courage and hope.
