Retiring Collection in aid of 'All We Can' (formally the Methodist Relief and Development Fund) for the Haiti Hurricane Appeal, following the devastating hurricane earlier this month. If you would like to donate towards this appeal, please do so on the collection plate at the back of church. We will be collecting this and next Sunday. Katie.

Church Council Meeting will be on Tuesday 18th October, at 7:30pm, at church.

Family Film Evening. On Friday 21st October, at 5:30pm we will be showing 'The Lion King' in the church hall. Tell your friends, bring some snacks and feel free to share! All ages welcome. Children to be accompanied, please. Katie.

Church Bank Account. Due to the closure of the Hillsborough branch of HSBC, we've had to move Wisewood Methodist a/c to the Nat West in Hillsborough. I have been assured that Standing Order payments will change seamlessly to the new bank and, as far as I can tell, this has happened. However, if anyone notices anything untoward, please let me know. Thank you. Many thanks for using this giving method. It makes life a lot easier. Would anyone else like to change to S/O? If so, please speak to Di.

Chapel Anniversary. As part of our celebrations, there will be a 3 course meal on Saturday 5th November, at church. Everyone is invited and welcome! If you would like to come, please sign up on the sheet that can be found on the welcome desk. Katie.

Volunteers needed to help with the preparation of the Notices / PowerPoint. If interested, please speak to Flory.

Tearfund's Haiti. £60 was collected for this worthy cause, during refreshment time. Thank you all for your generous contributions. Jenny and Di.

Prayer Group Report

We did not meet last weekend, but please pray for those affected by hurricane Matthew.

Haiti seems to have taken the brunt of this devastating storm and hundreds have been killed or are now homeless.

Please continue to pray for an end to the war in Syria, for refugees fleeing various areas of north Africa and the Middle East and for the people of Yemen, which has seen an escalation in the conflict and is now on the brink of famine.

There are several prayer pointers in the church vestibule in addition to the Prayer Book. Please take time to peruse the "apple" prayers, the harvest prayers and the "hand" prayer.
