Ashing & Communion Service will be on Ash Wednesday 1st March at 7:30pm, at Wisewood church.

Women’s World Day of Prayer Service will be on Friday 3rd March at Zion United Reformed Church in Oughtibridge at 2:00pm. This year’s service is called ‘Am I being unfair to you?’ and has been prepared by Christian Women of the Philippines. All are welcome (of any gender!). For more information speak to Katie.

Pastoral Committee will meet on Tuesday 21st March, at 7:30pm in the Owlerton Room.

The Prayer Corner has been updated. This month's space helps us think about God's love for us and our love for our neighbours. Perhaps, next time you are in church, you might take time to stop and pray. Katie.

Prayer Group Report

The Methodist Prayer Handbook asks us to pray for Myanmar and its leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, but particularly calls for prayer for the Methodist church in Myanmar.

We prayed for freedom to worship for Christians in the prevailing Buddhist culture, freedom for women and children, freedom from domination, loneliness, frustration, poverty and powerlessness. We prayed especially for the Moderator of the Methodist church there.

We remembered the group of Karen people who had to flee persecution in Myanmar some years ago and have now settled in Sheffield. They worship at Hillsborough Trinity. We prayed for the Methodist church in this country, for its leaders, ministers etc... and for our own minister, Katie, and church stewards.

We ask that we may all do our utmost to be like Jesus and work for Him.

On 'Thinking Day' we prayed for the Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers and for Amanda and the other leaders. We referred to the Prayer Book and prayed for the bereaved and desperately ill. We gave thanks for the care offered by the NHS. May solutions be found to the present funding and staffing difficulties for the NHS to be able to continue to offer its services freely at the point of need.

Teach us, O Lord, to celebrate our faith and feel your Holy Spirit's guidance to spread your Word. May more people come to know your love and encouragement.
