Easter Flowers. As has been our custom recently, we are going to cover our Easter cross with flowers again on Easter Sunday morning, 16th April 10:30am. We therefore ask you all to bring a flower to church that morning - it doesn't matter what sort it is, a mixture always looks great. Thank you. Di.

The Sooper Troopers will be performing a play called “Life Journey” on Wednesday 26th April at 1:15pm at Hillsborough Sports Arena, free of charge. Simon.

Have you been struggling to hear what was said during the service, from where you usually sit? The problem has been looked into and we are going to install a new sound system, which will include additional speakers, to get better coverage. However, until this has been completed, we suggest that you sit somewhere between the two speakers, in the right hand block of seats (same side as the sound box). Thank you for your cooperation.

Prayer Group Report

Our reading was from Psalm 91: "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty" etc.

We gave thanks for answered prayers - some who had been ill are recovering and finding life worth living again.

We remembered all those mentioned in our Prayer Book thinking especially of those recently bereaved. May they know God's healing and peace.

In Colombia exceptionally heavy rain has caused rivers to overflow and mudslides have covered several neighbourhoods in the town of Mocoa, killing around 300 people and leaving many homeless. We prayed for them and for families in various other parts of our world who are in dire need of clean water, food, medical assistance and shelter. Many have been forced to leave their homes because of war or drought caused by climate change. May the 'powers that be' move towards the use of renewable energy sources which do not pollute.

We prayed for the homeless in this country, especially those sleeping on the streets of Sheffield. Many of these once lived happy, settled family lives, but now, for whatever reason, are destitute. We gave thanks for all the agencies which help the needy, for the local food banks and hostels.

As is usual, we prayed for all those leading worship - may God's Word reach into the hearts of all who hear. We gave thanks for all the 'freedoms' we enjoy which entail others having to work.

Loving God, remind us to pause when our freedoms come at the expense of others' chains - even when we simply shop, eat out, travel to different places.
