Chippy Church. Harry and Wendy are having a break from Chippy Church in May and June. If anyone is able to organise and run these dates, speak to Wendy.

Thank you to everyone who sent cards, gifts and good wishes for my 70th birthday. I had a wonderful day of celebrations. Sue Rus.

Notices. Please let me have all new notices by Thursday. If you are in the habit of leaving a hand written note in the red folder, please also make me aware. If a notice doesn't make it to the paper copy, please let any of the stewards know, on Sunday morning and it will be read at the lectern. Flory.

Prayer Group Report

We read from Psalm 91 - 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.'

We gave thanks for all those who have been instrumental in lifting high the name of Jesus.

Thanks too for our own Minister, Katie, and all the new ways she finds to show Jesus to various communities, to schools etc.

The Methodist Church at Dungworth is due to close shortly. We are thankful for the many years of witness shown and prayed for its members and congregation as they look for alternative places of worship.

Wadsley Church is about to embark on a new Alpha course. We prayed for the organisers and that many people might come to know Jesus.

We remembered with thanksgiving the life, work and witness of Pauline Webb, a former vice-president of the Methodist Conference, who died last week. She spent much of her life evangelising in the London area.

We prayed for the sick, the homeless and others in need and for the bereaved, especially Katie and her family. May they know God's peace.

We prayed for wisdom for leaders of nations and for church leaders. May they focus on talks to bring peace to countries in turmoil and work together to alleviate suffering around the world.
