Alice, Helen and families want to thank everyone for the love, prayers and support you have given to Mum and to all of us over the past few months.  Thanks also to everyone who helped at Mum’s thanksgiving service. The money raised was donated equally between the church and Macmillan cancer care.

The ‘Friends of Wisewood and District’ would very much like more people to be involved in events, concerns , ideas, activities which may benefit the local surroundings and/or the local community. You are invited to attend their Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 22nd October at 2:00pm in the RIVA building (corner of Laird Road/Rural Lane). Margaret P.

Church Anniversary on Saturday 2nd / Sunday 3rd November - this year is the 200th anniversary of the opening of the original Wadsley Wesley Methodist Chapel, that was on the site of Wisewood Methodist Church. To mark the occasion, on Saturday 2nd November at 3:00pm there will be an exhibition in the church with afternoon tea at 4:30pm, followed by a concert 6:30pm onwards. The anniversary service on Sunday 3rd November at 10:30am will be led by Rev'd Ric Fellows. Please do invite people to come along, especially if you have contact with previous members or ministers. SHOEBOXES - Shoebox Sunday (24th November) is fast approaching. Shoeboxes will be available from today (price 40p) and sets of hats, scarves and mittens will be available from next Sunday. Please note: sweets and toothpaste are not to be included due to Customs Regulations. Enid.

Christmas Fayre 2019 will take place on Saturday 30th November from 11:00am. Please make a note in your diary.

We would like to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, gifts, telephone calls and visits during Enid's recent illness. She is now making progress but not fast enough for her liking. It is lovely to be back with you all. Thank you once again. Enid and David.

CARDS FOR GOOD CAUSES - The Charity Christmas Card shop is now open in a new home in Orchard Square (opposite Waterstones).The opening hours are Monday to Saturday (10:15am to 4:15pm). Come and see our wide selection of charities' cards and gifts. You may even recognise some of the volunteers. Enid.
