Advent Study Course 'Exploring our Christmas Carols' will continue on Monday 9th, 16th and 23rd December at 7:30pm at Wisewood Church. We'll be reflecting on the history and theology contained within the words we sing. Rev'd Katie.

Greetings to All - As we have done in previous years, I have prepared a place at the back of the church for members to send their ‘greetings’ to friends and, in doing so, give a donation to charity. This year’s charity will be PARKINSONS UK. Please take this opportunity to support the charity and send ‘greetings’ to friends. Thank you. Margaret T.

Local Carol Singing on Tuesday 10th December at 7:00pm in the church hall.

General Elections - on Thursday 12th December, all day. Please refrain from entering the church premises, unless you are voting.

Wisewood Community Singers will be Carol Singing and singing the Christmas pieces we have learnt this year at Fox Valley, Stocksbridge on Thursday 12th December 6:00-7:00pm. If you would like to support us, come and join in! Please wrap up warm. We will be hopefully going to Costa afterwards!

HARC - The church will be sending a donation to Homeless and Rootless at Christmas, shortly. This charity provides a safe haven for vulnerable and homeless men and women between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day serving three hot meals a day along with other services such as a hairdresser, podiatrist, entertainment and a selection of clothing. They typically serve 2000 meals over the period the project operates when many other agencies are closed. If you would like to support this very worthwhile cause, please see Di or Margaret P.

Brightholmlee Methodist Church will hosting their Annual Christmas Tree Festival on Friday 13th / Saturday 14th December 3:00-7:00pm and Sunday 15th December 12noon-3:00pm. The festival will end with our Christingle and Carol Service at 4:00pm. There will be over 25 trees decorated by local people and we are raising money for 3 local charities. We hope you will come and support us! From everyone at Brightholmlee Methodist Church.

'Sounds of Christmas' concert will be presented by the City of Sheffield Teachers' Choir on Saturday 14th December at 7:00pm at Bents Green Methodist Church. Tickets available at the door or from Joan W. / John G. at £10 adult, £8 concession (60+ and students), free for under 16's.

The Christmas Postbox is now available. This is only for friends who attend church. No deliveries will be made. The box will be available until 22nd December. The cards will be sorted up to 19th December but a sorter(s) is(are) required for 22nd December. If you can help, please let us know. Enid or David.

God in Love Unites Us (Marriage and Relationships Consultation) - if you were unable to attend the introduction to the report evening in November and would like a copy of the report and resources given out, there are copies available in the Church Office. Please help yourself. The next date for your diary is Monday 13th January 2020, 7:30pm at Wisewood when we will be having conversations on the content of the report. These are important conversations in the life of the Methodist Church, my hope is that you will engage with them. For more information please speak to me. Rev’d Katie.
