This meeting to aid the reviewers to get picture of each church to make their recommendations. This meeting with also be with members from Hillsborough Trinity and the Fourways Churches. Everyone from Wisewood is welcome to attend this meeting.’

Our new circuit will be reviewing the life and mission of all its churches over the next three years. To this end a process has been developed and we have equipped a number of facilitators to accompany and lead churches through these reviews. It is really important that this process begins with everyone involved in the local churches. A simple questionnaire has been produced which you are invited to complete and ensure is returned to the red box in the vestibule by the 16th February. A small group from our own church will collate the responses at the end of February. This will lead to a more detailed conversation in partnership with other churches, as together, we seek to explore how each congregation can most effectively undertake its mission. Please take one of the questionnaires in the foyer and return it when completed to the post-box. There will be more details to follow about meetings to review the life of the church facilitated by the circuit. Any questions about the circuit review please speak to Katie.

Prayer Column

After reading Psalm 79, we prayed for the persecuted Christians, especially those being targeted at present in the Congo, Nigeria and the Middle East where churches are being destroyed. We prayed for those who seek to reconcile Muslims, Jews and Christians. Also for those who speak out against wars and hostilities to bring about peace,Our thoughts turned to the places where there is turmoil and to the plight of Syrians herded together in overcrowded refugee camps in bordering countries or trapped in their own country with little food and water. We prayed for an end to Gender wars in Muslim countries and in India so that the abuse of women is halted and women’s rights upheld. We prayed for all those travelling with Tearfund and other Christian agencies– many of them young graduates taking a gap year . May their work helping those in need in various parts of the world give them a better understanding of the lives of others and a realisation of how fortunate we are.We prayed for the countries where Tear Fund is working, many of which have rich resources, but corruption and greed have limited their growth and well being. We remembered the peoples in the South West so badly affected by recent storms, especially those in Somerset where ongoing floods are causing huge problems. May steps be taken to clear all forms of debris to relieve the situation and help avoid such happenings in the future.
