Prayer Column

We read from Hebrews ch.1 ‘You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness’.

We remembered people in prisons and gave thanks for those who go in to take the gospel message. We prayed for them, for prison chaplains, prison staff and those who are imprisoned.

We prayed for a peaceful settlement to the unrest in Ukraine instead of the intention to go to war which seams threatened at present. May Ukrainian and Russian leaders come together to discuss a peaceful way forward.

Despite the increasingly difficult situation for Christians in Egypt, ‘Biblelands’ are distributing more and more Bible booklets as many people seek spiritual answers. We prayed that Muslims and Christians may come to an understanding of each other.

The ‘Fun day in the Park’ this year is on Saturday 3rd May and we prayed that a fine day may bring many families into the park.

We prayed for all the meetings and activities which take place in this church that all may come may learn more of the love of Jesus here.

Rev.Keith Hebden in Mansfield is taking on a challenge to fast for 40 days and nights in response to the plight of all those needing to use food banks or suffering of malnutrition in this country. We prayed for him and that his action may make a difference.
