Prayer Group

We read Mark chapter 11 from verse 23 - "Have faith in God..."

Two years ago 1187 people died when a clothing factory in Bangladesh collapsed. The charity Koinonia has been helping those affected since then and is working to improve living and working conditions for adults and children in that area. Many children were orphaned when the factory collapsed .

In West Africa terrorist activities and the Ebola virus are still claiming thousands of lives and here too are many orphaned children...

The Boko Haram group is now expanding its terrifying attacks to countries neighbouring Nigeria - Cameroon & Niger - where churches are being burned, villages destroyed, people kidnapped or killed, especially those who refuse to convert to Islam. We prayed for an end to the incomprehensible actions of these terrorist groups.

In Saudi Arabia' Raif Badawi has been sentenced to 1000 lashes and 10 years imprisonment simply for writing a secular blog following the Paris shootings. We prayed for a way to be found for this sentence to be commuted despite the laws imposed by the Saudis' particular brand of Islam.

The World Economic Forum is taking place in Davos. We prayed that the meeting would tackle the great divide between rich and poor and would speak out for the poor.

Our prayers continued for 'Churches against Poverty' working hard to help the plight of the poor in this country.

We prayed for the group of boys which often congregates outside church. Two of them have been injured in a collision with a car whilst cycling.
