CHURCH STEWARD VACANCY. New church steward wanted with effect from September 2015. If interested, speak to one of the existing stewards.

HELP NEEDED WITH WEENIES (play group for 0-4 year old) on Friday mornings a.s.a.p. Christine.

Church Council Meeting will be on Monday 13th April at 7:30pm.

Ladies Guild will meet again on Tuesday 14th April at 2:00pm.

Fashion Show & Afternoon Tea in aid of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice will be on Thursday 30th April 2:30-4:30pm at Café Moda, in Atkinsons. Tickets £10 from Enid B.

Christian Aid Walk. This year’s charity walk will be held on bank holiday Monday 4th May. We will be walking around Dam Flask before returning to Wisewood Church for bacon sandwiches. More details will follow later.

Crucible Musical "Showboat" will be on Thursday 14th January 2016 at 7:15pm. Tickets are £22 if 25 or more people book (£23 if 10-24 people book) and pay by Thursday 21st May 2015. Cliff P.

Prayer Group Column

Our reading was from Deuteronomy chapter 10 v. 12: 'What does the Lord God ask of you? .... to walk in all His ways ... etc...'

We continued our prayers for 'Biblelands' - translating God's word into so many local dialects and gave thanks for the difference this is making by spreading God's message of love where it has not previously been understood.

We prayed for the victims of the awful plane crash in the French Alps, for their families and friends and for the co-pilot, Andreas Lubitz, who it seems deliberately crashed the aircraft whilst the balance of his mind was disturbed. We cannot imagine how his parents must be feeling - we prayed for them.

We prayed for people, especially those known to us, who are bowed down with various worries which seem impossible to overcome. May they find a way through their agitation and see their problems resolved.

Lord we ask that you continue to guide and direct our work for you.
