Prayer Group Report

We read from Acts, chapter 2. Peter boldly speaks out for the Gospel "Be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ".

We gave thanks for all the ways the Gospel is bravely proclaimed throughout the world today, especially in places where there is persecution of Christians.

Thanks for the guidance of God's Holy Spirit and the confidence given to trust God and share His Word.

We remembered the Queen, giving thanks for her faithfulness, her duty and her faith - which has never been hidden - an account of which is to be found in the book published by Scripture Union to celebrate her 90th birthday.

We gave thanks for the recent celebration service here, when several people were welcomed into membership of the church. May God's Holy Spirit rest on them - and us - as we show Jesus to all we meet.

Biblelands asks us to pray for Swaziland and Bangladesh where H.I.V. Aids is prevalent and many children are affected. We prayed for the work of Biblelands as they help practically and spiritually in these areas.

We gave thanks for the many aid agencies offering comfort and counselling to refugees and others in need (Christian Aid, Embrace etc...).

We prayed for people struggling with illness, waiting for a diagnosis or hospital treatments and for the bereaved. May they know God's peace.
