Prayer Group Report

We read from Psalm 81: 'Sing for joy to God our strength' and gave thanks for our freedom to worship.

We prayed for the worldwide work of MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) and for their representative, who was to lead our worship.

Our prayers continued for the people of Aleppo, Haiti and other areas of suffering and war.

We gave thanks for Tearfund's emergency fund, ready to be used to bring relief as soon as disasters occur, and for other aid agencies.

Despite many difficulties Christians in Pakistan are helping many learn to read by setting up literacy projects and the church in Bangladesh is helping communities with a variety of practical and spiritual things to give people hope for the future.

We prayed for the success of the meeting of various world leaders in Kigali where, amongst other things, agreements were made to reduce global warming. May these be put into practice.

We prayed for America's forthcoming Presidential election which seems to be in turmoil. May the person chosen as President be just and compassionate.

We prayed for those mentioned in our Prayer book, for others in need and for young people settling in to new classes, new schools, colleges and universities.
