"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

Hebrews ch.11 v.6

There will be a Memorial Service led by Katie Leonowicz on Sunday 20th November at 3:00pm.

No Evening Service on Sunday 20th November.

Our annual Christmas Fair will be on Saturday 26th November at 11:00am. If you have anything suitable for sale or can help on a stall, please see Sue Russell.

Shoeboxes. There are leaflets on the reception desk giving ideas for the contents of a shoebox. There are sets of hats, scarfs and mittens, made by the Knit and Chat group, for sale, after the service. The proceeds go towards the cost of transport for the boxes.

Christmas Concert by Vivacity Choir is going to be held at Wisewood Methodist Church on Saturday 10th December, at 6:30pm, in support of the charity 'Carmel Care Centre'. For further details, please see the blue poster on the notice board.

“A Journey Through Life” play presented by Sooper Troopers, on Wednesday 14th December, 1:00pm, at Hillsborough Park Sports Arena. Entrance is free, including tea/coffee and mince pies. Hope to see you there. Si.

Church Christmas Cards. For the past three years Becca has produced and delivered the church Christmas cards. This year Katie is producing them, but it is up to the congregation to deliver them. On the welcome desk is a list of streets we hope to cover and the approximate number of residences there are in each road. We are trying to minimise the cost by only printing cards which will be delivered. It would be very helpful if you could sign up against the streets you are able to deliver. The cards will be available from Sunday 27th November. We hope you can help in this outreach to the community. In anticipation of your help, many thanks. David and Enid.

Cards For Good Causes. The charity Christmas Card shop is now open at 46 Chapel Walk, 10:15am-4:15pm Monday to Saturday. It's the red shop below M&S entrance. There are 40 different charities offering cards and a selection of books and Christmas goods. You may recognise some of the volunteers. If you require further information please see me. Enid.

Prayer Group Report

We read from John's gospel, chapter 16 - Jesus prays for himself, "I pray also for all who believe". We prayed that we may fulfil His prayers. Also for reconciliation between churches and a willingness to take up the 'Great Commission' to spread God's love and encourage all.

We gave thanks for our Chippy Church. The theme of the last meeting was 'remembrance' and there are a number of prayers in the porch which were echoed by the Prayer Group.

We remembered the troubled areas of our world, the devastating effects of war, the loss of life and homes, the innocent people caught up in conflicts and prayed for peace.

We prayed for those mentioned in our Prayer Book and for others in need. As is usual we asked God's blessing on those leading worship and for those attending. During our morning service on 6th November we sang the hymn 681 from Singing the Faith. Please use this to continue to look past the Church's door to see and serve those in desperate need.

May God prompt us in all our doings.
