Prayer Group

We read 1 Peter, chapter 4 from verse 7: ‘... Above all, love each other deeply... offer hospitality... Each one should use whatever gifts he has received to serve others’. We gave thanks for our God-given gifts. May we know how best to use them.

Biblelands, Embrace and other Christian agencies are working hard to relieve the plight of so many people in distress and in the midst of war and unrest, especially across the Middle East.

We prayed for endurance and perseverance for all those having to contend daily with war, injustice, cruelty and persecution.

Biblelands is preparing a booklet to present to teenagers in the Middle East. We gave thanks for this work and prayed for the distribution of the booklet.

Thanks too for Christian Aid, Tearfund and all who work to spread God’s word and His love. Various denominations are working together with Tearfund to provide teaching and medical assistance etc.

The Methodist Prayer Handbook asks us to pray for Nigeria – for free and fair elections and for discernment for its leaders in dealing with Islamic groups such as Boko Haram. Also for the people of Cameroon – for an end to destruction and discrimination.

As usual we prayed for all leading worship and for those in need.

God of us all, thank you that you place us in communities to encourage each other and grow together. Help us all to listen with our hearts so that we may always be in tune with you.
